NEWPORT—Justin Thompson, manager of Cocke Farmers Co-op, told Det. Lynn Shults of the Newport Police Department on Tuesday, Feb. 11, that on that date, through an audit, approximately $80,000 had been stolen from the business, perhaps over several months and possibly even years.

Thompson stated that some deposits were not being made and cash was taken from the registers before money was placed in bank deposits, Det. Shults reported.
