NEWPORT—After suffering 6 to 10 inches of snow throughout the county of Wednesday and Thursday, Cocke County was expected to get another round of winter Friday night and early Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service in Morristown, rain was predicted to move into the area Friday night and change to snow overnight. NWS officials issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Cocke and surrounding counties from midnight to 7 a.m. Saturday, with 1 inch of snow possible, depending on the timing of the change from rain to snow.
