NEWPORT—After plaguing much of the last month of the 2013-14
Cocke County Elementary Basketball Association regular season, winter weather reared its ugly head
for the postseason as well.
Wednesday’s snow storm wiped out the schedule for this week and
tournament officials are aiming to restart the tournament next week, beginning with the remaining
quarterfinals on February 20. The postponement of tournament play, comes just after a week that
teams scrambled to play four games in a five-day span to complete the regular season. Winter weather
wiped out four dates of regular season play in January.
Cocke County Athletics Association
rules do not allow for play if the school system is not in session.
