NEWPORT-Stephen D. Jones, 26, 216 Fair St., in Newport, led police on a foot chase before being spotted in front of an auto parts store and arrested, on Monday, Jan. 27, the Newport Police Department reported.Officers were dispatched to 237 College St. on an auto burglary/theft, according to reports by Patrolmen Will Garber and Josh Holt.While
en route, dispatch informed officers that the owner of the 2013 Hyundai Sonata, Robert Nicholas Holt, was chasing an unknown white male on foot towards Beech Street.The
owner, Robert Holt, said he lost contact with the alleged thief in the area of Ruble Avenue. He also said the thief burglarized a 2007 Chevrolet owned by his wife, Amanda Ball.For
