Homeless count to take place in Cocke County, volunteers are needed

COCKE COUNTY-A training session of volunteers in preparation for a street count of homeless individuals will be conducted today, Jan. 21 at 2 p.m. at the Emergency Operations Center office next to the Cocke County Fire Department's hall at the fairgrounds on Highway 25/70.Volunteers are needed for the actual Point-in-Time Count, which will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 28, according to Carol Livingston, of Feed My Sheep Ministries.Tonia Lanthan, of the Tennessee Valley Coalition to End Homelessness, will conduct the training this afternoon.For more details, please see the Tuesday edition of the Newport Plain Talk.
