Missing boy returned safely to Newport; others missing

NEWPORT-One of two Newport juveniles reported missing since New Year's Eve returned home safely on Monday, Jan. 13, the Newport Police Department reported.Micah Lee LaMaster, 14 contacted his parents Monday morning to ask them to come to Knoxville to pick him up, NPD Chief Maurice Shults stated in a press release.The boy "seemed in good spirits when he arrived in Newport," Chief Shults said in the release.Det. James Holt reported that LaMaster's mother, Kathy Collier, said LaMaster was due to be placed in a program in Limestone for three-nine months.The police chief asked for the public's assistance in locating Derek James Williams, 17, who left Newport on Dec. 31 with LaMaster.For more details, please see the Tuesday edition of the Newport Plain Talk.
