KNOXVILLE—Although he died March 16, 2009, Marvin ‘Popcorn’
Sutton continues to garner publicity, the latest being a ruling issued by the
Court of Appeals of Tennessee at Knoxville.
In a decision issued by Judge Thomas R. Frierson II, a suit
filed by Sutton’s daughter, Sky Sutton on April 24, 2012, contesting Sutton’s
will was dismissed and Sutton’s widow, Pamela Sutton, left as the sole
beneficiary of his estate.
The legal wrangle began shortly after Sutton took his own
life shortly before he was to report to prison to serve an 18-month sentence
for manufacturing moonshine.
