Sheriff's Department gets 'largest' grant ever for county law enforcement

NEWPORT-The Cocke County Sheriff's Office has continually worked with the Tennessee Governor Highway Safety Office, the office said in a press release announcing a $75,000 safety grant."Our effort has been to protect motorists traveling our county's roadways," said Administrative Capt. Derrick Woods. The Sheriff's Office has just received a $75,140.00  traffic safety grant from the Governor's Highway Safety Office. "This is the largest traffic safety grant law enforcement in Cocke County has ever received," said Sheriff Armando Fontes.  For more details, please see the Tuesday edition of the Newport Plain Talk.
