GATLINBURG—A Newport woman recently received the prestigious
BEAR (Best Employee Awards Recognition) Employee of the Year award from the
Gatlinburg Chamber of Commerce.
Debbie Hayes Shults, an employee of Unforgettable Rentals,
was awarded the honor on Monday, December 2, at the Chamber’s annual meeting
and banquet. In presenting the award, Jackelyn Schafer, Gatlinburg Convention
and Visitors Bureau Board President, said, "Shults has a way of making visitors
feel at home during their visit to Gatlinburg, which is why she has earned this
In recognition of her achievement, Shults was presented with
a plaque and a gift basket filled with items from Gatlinburg businesses.
The Gatlinburg Chamber of Commerce created the Spirit of
Hospitality BEAR Awards to recognize employees of Gatlinburg businesses who
embrace the true spirit of hospitality and make visitors feel welcome.
