City Council reverses decision on signal lights - again

NEWPORT-They're baaaack!The signal lights at the intersection of Broadway and Jefferson Avenue are operating once again.The on-again, off-again decision on whether to keep the signal lights at the intersection functioning, or disabled, shifted again to keeping the signal lights operating, when the Newport City Council voted on the topic again at its Tuesday, Dec. 10 meeting.The Council had at its November meeting voted to "bag", or cover up, the signal lights, and to put stop signs on the sides on Jefferson Avenue.For more details, please see the Thursday edition of the Newport Plain Talk.
