Heavy traffic from people returning home from the Thanksgiving weekend resulted in several backups on Interstate 40 in the region on Sunday.Work
on the Interstate 40 bridge over the French Broad River in Jefferson County, near Exit 424, had both eastbound and westbound traffic backed up for miles Sunday afternoon. At one point, westbound traffic was backed up past Exit 432 in Newport.For
