NEWPORT—Those with Nooks, Kindles, and Ipads who have questions about their use will quite likely find the needed answers at a workshop planned for Tuesday, Nov. 12, at Stokely Memorial Library.

Amy Kimani of the Holston Regional Library Center will be on hand between 2-4 p.m. that afternoon to demonstrate and answer questions about these devices as part of the Tennessee State Library and Archives READS (Regional Ebook and Audiobook Download System).

The state library system, of which Cocke County’s four public libraries, Cosby Community, Del Rio (Marie Ellison Memorial), Parrottsville, and Stokely Memorial, are a part, offers thousands of ebooks and audiobooks to library patrons. “These digital titles can be downloaded to your personal computer and then transferred to various portable devices such as MP3 players and ebook readers,” says Meschelyn Barrett, Stokely Memorial Library Director.

“We’re happy to host Amy who will answer any questions you might have,” she continued. “Please feel free to bring your own devices or plan to try out one of hers.”

For more information, call 423-623-3832 Mondays-Saturdays between 10-5. The workshop is free.
