DEL RIO-Freezing temperatures and frost early Saturday morning, Oct. 26, quickly made way for warmer temperatures and perfect fall weather during the 28th annual Del Rio Days festival held the weekend of Oct. 26 and Oct. 27.Tammy Haney, secretary of the Del Rio Community Association, was the main coordinator of the two-day festival. She said the temperature at the site of the festival was 24 degrees Saturday at 7:30 a.m., before Del Rio Days began. There was frost on the ground, she said. One food vendor's onions reportedly froze overnight, and had to be thrown out.For more details, please see the Tuesday edition of the Newport Plain Talk.
