14-year-old boy cited for felony burglary and theft

NEWPORT—A 14-year-old boy who had allegedly been breaking into the KOA Campground’s office in Newport at night, after it was closed, was cited into Juvenile Court on charges of felony burglary and theft over $500, in Juvenile on Sunday, Sept. 29, the Cocke County Sheriff’s Department reported.

Bert Bockoven reported that after he discovered someone was stealing money from his business at 240 KOA Lane, he put up a surveillance camera inside the office and allegedly caught the suspect on tape inside the business after hours.
