The driver of a 1988 Chevy box truck was airlifted by helicopter to the University of
Tennessee Medical Center following a wreck on West Highway 25/70 in Jefferson County,
near the Cocke County line, on Tuesday, Sept. 24, the Tennessee Highway Patrol reported.
In the center is Cody Sams, of Newport, a passenger in the truck who was uninjured. On the
left is O.V. Davis, a bystander. The injured driver was Timothy Crumbley, 44, of Newport.

At about 1:15 p.m. the vehicle struck a mailbox and then
a tree before coming to a rest in the yard of a residence, about one mile from the Cocke
County/Jefferson County line, THP Trooper Erik Raines reported.
