NEWPORT-A Cosby Volunteer Fire Department firefighter and
the driver of a Mack truck that hit a rollback parked on the shoulder of
Interstate 40 died in a violent, two-vehicle crash Monday morning, Sept. 16,
the Tennessee Highway Patrol reported.
Clayton Ball, 33, was a firefighter with the CVFD 13
years, said CVFD Fire Chief Chris Gregg.
The driver of the 2000 Mack truck, Ricky Lee McCurry, 50,
was from Shelby, N.C., and not wearing a seat belt, THP Trooper Tyler Hall
reported. He died in the wreck, as well.
