NEWPORT-While excessive rains in East Tennessee in 2013
may have kept vegetation green, it has taken green away from the rafting
industry and Cocke County.
Much of East Tennessee is 18 to 19 inches above normal on

Cocke County Clerk Janice Butler said the increased number of rainy days
definitely had an impact on the number of people rafting down the Pigeon River.
