Two people injured in Cosby Highway wreck

NEWPORT-Two people were slightly injured in a two-vehicle wreck on Cosby Highway at the intersection with the Cosby Cut-Off, on Monday, Sept. 9, the Cocke County Sheriff's Department reported.

A passenger in a 2013 Ford Taurus, Deborah Compton, of 2471 Old Highway 32, in Newport, suffered a "non-incapacitating" injury and was taken by ambulance to Newport Medical Center, Lt. C.J. Ball stated.
