Child removed after drugs found in home

NEWPORT-Acting on a DCS report of a four-month-old child in a home where marijuana was being grown, Newport Police Department officers went to the home shared by Billy Weisbordt, 32, and Brittany Lambert, 27, at 330 Ninth St. on Thursday, Sept. 5.

Upon their arrival, according to Sgt. Amy Gentry, officers asked for and received permission to enter and search the home.

Officers detected an odor of marijuana and later found a pipe with marijuana residue, en empty pack of rolling papers, five marijuana plants in a closet, a sodium grow lite, mylar, two fans, a tote with water, an aerator, an empty packet of marijuana seeds, fertilizer, and plant food.
