NEWPORT-A lack of a quorum left members of the Newport
Regional Planning Commission unable to conduct any business on Thursday.
Members set a called meeting for Tuesday, September 10,
at 3:30 p.m. in at City Hall.
Items on the agenda include consideration of an ordinance
to limit the use of fireworks tents within Newport's city limits and an
ordinance to amend the Municipal Zoning Ordinance for the purpose of permitting
and regulating open-air markets in Newport's business districts.
A request from Vangela Dalton Shelton for a right-of-way
closure between 431 Duncan and McNabb Streets is also to be considered.
The meeting is open to the public.
