COSBY-Michael Anthony Tanner, 24, of 3250 Cosby Highway,
in Cosby, was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment with a deadly
weapon after he allegedly discharged a shotgun whose slug entered a residence
at 109 Greasy Cove Road where at least one person was present, at around 9
p.m., on Saturday, Aug. 24, the Cocke County Sheriff's Office reported.
Tanner said he shot at a raccoon behind his residence. He
said it had been getting into his trash for weeks, Deputy Sheriff Johnathan
Tanner said he used a 12-gauge shotgun with a slug when
he shot at the raccoon. When told the slug he fired went across Greasy Cove
Road into the Olson residence, Tanner allegedly asked if anyone was hurt, and
he was told no, according to Ball's report.
Ryan Olson, 20, stated he was lying in bed in the Greasy
Cove Road residence when he heard a faraway echo, and then a loud bang on the
side of the house.
