Sherry Yvonne Shelton, 51, of Windsor Way, in Del Rio, had to be extricated
from her Monte Carlo following a single-vehicle wreck Saturday morning,
July 13, the Tennessee Highway Patrol reported. She was airlifted to
Johnson City Medical Center, and then discharged.

NEWPORT-Sherry Yvonne Shelton, 51,
of Windsor Way, in Del Rio was airlifted by a Wings helicopter to a Johnson City hospital from the
scene of a single-vehicle crash she was in on Highway 25/70 on Saturday, July 13, according to the
Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Shelton was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Monte
Carlo east on Highway 25/70 when, about one mile east of Mannings Chapel Road, at 6:10 a.m., the
vehicle went off the highway on the right side, then down an embankment, and then struck a tree,
Trooper Randy Spurgeon reported.
Shelton was trapped in her vehicle,
but extricated by members of the Newport Rescue Squad, Cocke County Sheriff's Department, and the
Del Rio Volunteer Fire Department, according to Spurgeon.
