DEL RIO-Officers with the Cocke County Sheriff's Office
reported that they arrived at a creek near Old 15th Road in Del Rio, where they
found an unresponsive Steve Allen Williams, of 114 Mountain Shadow Way, in
Cosby, on Tuesday, July 9, at 7:50 p.m.
Dispatch reportedly received a 911 call on a possible
drowning in the area. Minutes later, dispatch cancelled the Rescue Squad and
said the nature of the call was blood sugar-related, according to the report by
Deputy Sheriffs Heath Willis and Jody Ball, and Det. Jason Oury.
The Del Rio Volunteer Fire Department arrived on the
scene and requested law enforcement due to a possible death, the report stated.
When officers arrived, they found Williams on the ground
next to the creek. He had grayish pale skin, appeared to not be breathing, and
was unresponsive, the officers reported.
