PARROTTSVILLE-A 10-day deadline to respond to the Town of Parrottsville's offer to the county to move Parrottsville's convenience center to a site the town is willing to purchase has passed with no response from the county.

Parrottsville Mayor Mary Keller said at the board of mayor and aldermen meeting on Thursday, June 27 that she had not received any response since she sent a letter on June 17 to Skip Ellison, chairman of the Cocke County Landfill Committee.

In the letter, Mayor Keller agreed to offer one acre of land on Allens Chapel Road that the Town of Parrottsville will purchase for $12,000.

The Town of Parrottsville agreed to offer the land to the county at no cost, as long as it is used as a site for a convenience center, and that the convenience center be relocated within 90 days.
