PARROTTSVILLE-The board of mayor and aldermen of Parrottsville voted at a called meeting to purchase one acre of land on Allens Chapel Road for $12,000, and to move the convenience center to that location.

In a letter addressed to Skip Ellison, chairman of the Cocke County Landfill Committee, Mayor Mary Keller said the Town of Parrottsville agreed to offer the land to the county at no cost, as long as it is used as a site for a convenience center, and that the convenience center be relocated within 90 days.

The Commission also voted to offer the county $5,000 towards the relocation of the dumpsters from their present site behind the town's library.
