NEWPORT-Gov. Bill Haslam will be in Newport on Tuesday, June 18.

According to Sherry Butler, Cocke County Partnership Vice-President of Operations, the governor will be at the Cocke County Courthouse at 1:00 p.m. to officially announce the awarding of an ARC grant for the Grassy Fork waterline.

Butler's announcement came Thursday morning during a meeting of the Partnership's board of directors at the Community Center.

Board members also heard a brief overview of the Partnership's accomplishments since its establishment nine years ago.

Partnership President Don Hurst said, "In 2014, we'll celebrate the Partnership's ten-year anniversary, and our annual banquet in 2014 will focus on both the past ten years and look forward to the next ten years."
