Benchmark Physical Therapy’s doctor spoke to the Newport
Kiwanis Club to give some helpful hints on treatment of injuries and also kinds
of therapy available to patients.
Dr. Tamara Carver joined the Benchmark center in Newport in
1997 and obtained her doctor’s degree in advanced therapies at St. Augustine.
She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and Cosby High School.
Benchmark’s aim is to restore quality of life to its
patients and improve their mobility and health, especially through manual
therapy and strengthening exercises.
Dr. Carver is also a sports injuries and training specialist
who works with local athletes. Benchmark PT offers community outreach programs
“If you have pain, come see me,” she said, noting that in
Tennessee patients have direct access to their physical therapists.
