Woman charged for fraudulent use of credit card

NEWPORT-Amanda Michelle Carver, 30, of Johnson Street, in Newport, was arrested and charged with 32 counts of fraudulently using her grandparents' card, the Cocke County Sheriff's Department reported.

Det. Jason Oury stated in his report dated Thursday, May 30, that the card belonging to Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Woods, who reside in an assisted living community, was used approximately 150 times for a total fraud of $9,116.52.

Carver was also charged with fraudulent use of a credit card over $1,000, and theft of property over $1,000, Det. Oury stated in his report.
