NEWPORT-A seventeen-year-old male faces burglary charges
after quick action by the Newport
Police Department on Monday morning in connection with a burglary of First
United Methodist Church, 212 Washington Ave.
The teenager was located at Eastport Exxon by Detective
James Holt after the burglary was reported earlier Monday morning.
According to police reports, the juvenile admitted in a
written statement that "he did make entry into [the] church after business
and damaged the named property."
