NEWPORT-An annual crime victims ceremony brought out relatives and friends of people they've lost to the activities of criminals.

More than a few tears were shed as District Attorney General Jimmy Dunn addressed a crowd of mourners and officials on the lawn of the downtown Courthouse.

Both Dunn and General Sessions Judge John Bell shared scripture with the grieving people in attendance.

Dunn quoted Ephesians 5:15-20, saying, "See that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil ... (and give) thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Said Dunn, "I encourage you to draw strength from your faith."
