COSBY--Despite a sluggish start, the Cosby Eagles soccer team responded with a strong second half to defeat Cumberland Gap on senior night, 4-1.
There were some tense moments early on as Cumberland Gap scored just a couple of minutes into the game.
The Eagles had a difficult time finding an offensive rhythm during the first half and they didn’t find the back of the net until a Timmy Patterson goal in the 28th minute.
“We didn’t see the field,” Cosby head coach Dan Schreder said. “It’s back to the basics of positioning on the field - positioning when we’re in the offensive mode, positioning when we’re in the defensive mode and how to switch quickly between the two. So we had shortcomings there.”
“We also had a problem with field vision in the first half. We stressed that with better passing and better movement.”
