First Priority Global gathering set for Thursday

Rev. Benny Proffitt and Rev. Peter Abungu will be at the East Tennessee
Baptist Building, 650 New Cave Church Road, on Thursday to share
information about First Priority Global. The two recently visited Northport
Baptist church to tell about Tabu Samu, a project to purchase shoes for

NEWPORT-Newport native Rev. Benny Proffitt and Rev. Peter Abungu will be at the East Tennessee Baptist Building on Thursday, April 25, to share information about the ministry of First Priority Global. The program is open to the public and starts at 6 p.m. Admission is free.

Proffitt, founder of First Priority Global Ministries, is internationally known as founder of First Priority, a youth-based Christian organization with chapters around the world.

Abungu is director of First Priority Kenya and recently visited Newport with Proffitt to accept donations for Tabu Samu, a project to purchase shoes for the over 700,000 children living in Nairobi, Kenya's slums.

Proffitt recently left First Priority to establish First Priority Global. "Our mission at First Priority Global is focused on developing partnerships and piloting our ministry strategy on all six inhabited continents," he explained.
