NASHVILLE—Cocke County’s jobless rate dropped four-tenths
of a percent in February to 12.4 percent, according to figures provided last
week by the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
Out of a workforce of 16,220, 2,020 were without jobs.
In the region, Hamblen County had the lowest rate at 8.9
percent, unchanged from January.
Jefferson County followed at 11.1 percent, while Greene
County was at 11.6 percent, a three-tenths of a percent drop from the previous
month. Sevier County recorded a rate of 11.9 percent, up four-tenths of a
percent from January.
