National Crime Victims Rights ceremony slated April 26

NEWPORT—Fourth Judicial District Attorney General Jimmy Dunn announced Monday that a ceremony will be held in honor of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week.

The ceremony will be at the Cocke County Courthouse lawn in Newport at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 26. The commemorative event will honor and remember all people whose lives have been touched by violent crime.

General Dunn invites victims, families, friends and law enforcement from all counties in the Fourth Judicial District to attend. Dunn will be the keynote speaker and encourages the participation of anyone who wishes to speak at the ceremony. Please bring photos to the ceremony, where there will be a table reserved to honor all victims.
