NEWPORT-A Cocke County school bus driver was cited Wednesday morning, March 27, apparently for failing to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Rebels Road and Highway 321, the Tennessee Highway Patrol reported.

A THP trooper issued the citation to Valerie Alicia Phillips for failure to stop the bus, which had children aboard, at a stop sign at the intersection of Rebels Road and Highway 321, which is south of Wilton Springs Road, at about 8 a.m., according to the THP.

Phillips was issued the citation, then proceeded on her route, the THP reported.

No one was injured, according to the report.
