Arrest made in forest fire: Irish Cutt woman facing multiple charges

NEWPORT-Emily Debra Edwards, 51, of 267 Irish Cutt Road, in Newport, was charged with setting the March 16 Woodland fire that occurred on Rag Mountain in the Grassy Fork community, the Cocke County Sheriff's Department reported.

Edwards was charged on Friday, March 22, with setting a fire without a permit, reckless burning, and unattended fire, Det. Bryan Murr of the CCSD reported.

Officers responded to the suspicious Woodland fire on Rag Mountain in Hartford that burned an estimated 295 acres.
