County's top spellers ready to vie for championship

NEWPORT-Plans are in place for the 2013 Spelling Bee for the top spellers in each of the county's nine elementary school.

Eighteen students will come together on Tuesday, March 26, at First Baptist Church for the annual event beginning at 7 p.m.

From Bridgeport Elementary School will be Katherine Sellars and Christian Le.

Katherine is the daughter of Tonia and Chris Norton. An eighth-grader, Katherine enjoy's collecting quarters, drawing, and taking care of "Allie" cat.

Christian is the son of David Le and Nikki Mantooth.

He is in the sixth grade and enjoys basketball and watching football.
