NEWPORT-A 17-year-old Cocke County High School student
found on campus on Thursday, March 21 with marijuana, two Xanax pills, and
tobacco was charged, released to his parent, and 'zero-toleranced' out of
school for one year, Sgt. Randy Cutshaw of the Cocke County Sheriff's
Department reported.
Sgt. Cutshaw, the school resource officer, said he got a
tip that the student had drugs in his possession while at CCHS, the report
stated.
Jody Williamson, the dean of students, and Sgt. Cutshaw
allegedly took the suspect to an office and searched him.
