COSBY-After two seasons at the helm of the Cosby High School boys basketball team, coach John Marsh has resigned.
Marsh informed the team in a Thursday afternoon meeting he was stepping down from the position effective immediately to spend more time with his family. Marsh will remain on the faculty at Cosby High School where he teaches social studies.
“I decided to resign after talking to my wife and family members,” Marsh said on Friday afternoon. “I still have a passion for coaching, but being an hour away takes a toll on my family and the time I can spend with my family.
“I didn’t have the time to devote to my wife and kids,” Marsh said.
Cosby principal Brad Flatford said he was appreciative of Marsh’s efforts to lead the program.
“I’m very appreciative of John’s efforts in our basketball program the last couple of years,” Flatford said. “He’s been a positive addition to our faculty and I admire some of the things he’s done with our basketball program.”
