GRASSY FORK-Both local and federal law enforcement agencies are investigating a possible arson fire on Henderson Road, in Grassy Fork, that destroyed 295 acres over a span of three days, starting Saturday, March 16.

About 70 percent of the land burned belongs to the U.S. Forest Service, according to Grassy Fork Volunteer Fire Department Chief Walt Cross.

Five fire agencies responded to the fire alarm on Saturday at 3:30 p.m., according to the Cocke County Fire Department.

Those agencies are: Grassy Fork Volunteer Fire Department, the Cosby Volunteer Fire Department, CCFD, Tennessee Forest Service, and the U.S. Forest Service, according to Chief Cross.
