NEWPORT—Newport City Council on
Tuesday approved a motion for drainage and site preparation for a new combination library/museum
complex to be built downtown.
A clause was added to make the deal with
Robert G. Campbell & Associates, the engineering firm, "contingent upon closing" on a USDA
Rural Development loan for the project.
A separate motion was passed
to approve a contract with Michael Brady, Inc. for architectural services on the new complex,
contingent upon the closing of properties purchased to make way for the complex. The owner of the
