Wind-whipped winds fanned flames that nearly completely destroyed
a three-bedroom residence and a small, unoccupied cabin behind the
residence on Monday, March 11, the Cosby Volunteer Fire Department
reported. Homeowner Anthony Cupp said the fire department got the
call of a fire in his residence at 1775 Bloom Drive. No one was injured
in the fire, whose cause is not known, Cupp said. The house is valued
at $80,000; the contents at $50,000; and the cabin at $12,000,
according to Cupp, who lived in the residence with his daughter, Chandra
Cupp. On Monday afternoon, the Cupps' pet cat was still missing, they said.
