NEWPORT-Registration for kindergarten classes at Newport Grammar School will be held Tuesday, April 16, and Thursday, April 18, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. each day, according to NGS Principal Sandy Burchette.

Registration will be held in the NGS clinic.

Those registering children for the 2013-2014 school year should bring a copy of the child's birth certificate with a state seal (not the mother's copy), a copy of the child's Social Security card, the Tennessee Department of Health Certificate of Immunization, and proof of residence.

Burchette said parents should make sure the child has proof of a 2013 health exam and documentation of all needed immunizations.

Proof of residence can be provided by a telephone or utility bill or tax notice with current address.

All forms need to be in the child's legal name, Burchette added.
