COSBY-Lindsey Williamson, a senior at Cosby High School,
has been named a Discus Award finalist for 2012-2013, in recognition of her
achievements in academics, athletics, and community service.
As a Discus Award finalist, Williamson will be considered
for college scholarships.
Discus Awards is a national high school recognition
program that honors all-around high school students who excel in three of ten
key attributes.
Williamson currently maintains a 3.84 GPA while taking
seven honors classes including biology, math, English, and history. She has
also taken several college courses while in high school and will graduate with
29 college credit hours completed through Walters State Community College.
These classes included Calculus I & II, English composition I & II,
American history I & II, Probability and Statistics, Psychology, and Music
Appreciation.
