The 2012-13 season came to an end for both county high school boys basketball teams on Saturday night.
The Cosby Eagles saw their 17-win season ended early with a 69-66 overtime loss to District 1-A University High in the Region 1-A quarterfinal round. The loss came despite a 28-point effort from Cosby High senior Tate Parton.
In Kingsport, the Cocke County Fighting Cocks also had their season ended at 17 wins. Dobyns-Bennett, the District 1-AAA runner-up, dominated for a 70-31 victory. Cocke County was held to just 11 points in the second half in the loss. Dobyns-Bennett led the game 33-20 at halftime.
