PARROTTSVILLE-The City of Parrottsville is expected to
have a called meeting before Friday, March 1, the day that city officials have
picked to close the convenience center in the center of the historic city.
Parrottsville Mayor Mary Keller said Wednesday, Feb. 20,
that she has not received any response from Cocke County Mayor Vaughn Moore to
a letter the Parrottsville city attorney mailed to him in January, announcing
their decision to close the center.
Keller said, "If it was reversed, and I was the
county mayor, I would bend over backwards to help a small community, such as
the third oldest town in Tennessee (Parrottsville), Bybee, or Del Rio, resolve
a situation like this."
