NEWPORT-Robert Green has been chosen by the Cocke County
Legislative Body to fill the seat vacated by the death of Bill Williamson late
last year.
Green was selected from among four candidates presented to the
CLB during Tuesday's regular monthly meeting.
Other candidates selected by
the General Committee for consideration were Claire Crouch, Ben Hicks and Terry
Brockwell.
CLB acting Chairman Clay Blazer advised members the nominee for
the position would need at least seven votes. CLB member Jimmy Lindsey
requested that Tom Sutton, also of the Fifth District, make the first
