NEWPORT-A Newport resident with an active warrant for
four counts of AWOL in the Tennessee National Guard, out of Hawkins County, was
arrested Friday, Feb. 15 at 11:15 p.m. during a traffic stop near Wendy's
Restaurant on Cosby Highway in Newport, the Newport Police Department reported.
Nathan D. Anderson, 22, of 405 Angel Way, in Newport, was
being held by jail authorities pending his extradition to Hawkins County
authorities, according to the report by Patrolman Josh Holt.
