NEWPORT—Because of the Presidents Day holiday, the February meeting of the Cocke County Legislative Body was scheduled for 6 p.m. (Tuesday) in the Circuit Courtroom of the Cocke County Courthouse.

One of the main items for consideration will be selecting a candidate to fill the Fifth District CLB post left vacant by the death of Bill Williamson late last year. Terry Brockwell, Claire Crouch, Robert Lee Green and Ben Hicks were chosen from seven candidates as finalists by the CLB General Committee earlier this month.

In addition to monthly reports and budget transfers, other items on the agenda include:

• Considering a resolution to appointment of all fulltime Cocke County Fireman as County Judicial Commissioners.

• Hearing a presentation by General Sessions Court Judge John Bell regarding litigation fees.
