COSBY-Two more scholarships are now in place for local
high school seniors.
One senior each from Cosby and Cocke County High Schools
will receive a $2,500 Mission of Hope scholarship to be used at the school of
the students' choice, according to Mission of Hope Executive Director Emmette
Thompson.
Thompson, who brought literature about the scholarship to
Cosby High last week, said the scholarship program grew out of Mission of
Hope's ongoing work to provide school children in Tennessee, Kentucky, and
Virginia counties identified as "economically distressed" with food,
clothes, hygiene items, and other necessities for educational success.
"This is part of Mission of Hope's growing
work," said Thompson. "We are very excited to be able to expand our
program in this way."
